JPRacing - Storm Babet pt.2 ⛈️

I mentioned yesterday that Storm Babet was going to cause havoc across the coming days, and it sure is. Beeley and Tajanis were both non-runners yesterday, but three of the four horses who did run won — so that’s a pretty good outcome all things considered.

Calvert got off the mark for Roger Teal on the fourth attempt under Jim Crowley at Bath, Kalamunda followed up on his Southwell win at Kempton as expected and Mu Chiquita made it 2-2 over hurdles at Wetherby. They weren’t the best prices, but it worked out about +3.62 profit for the day on the odds tipped in the newsletter.

We’ve already lost Haydock due to a water-logged track. But the good news is Carlisle has passed its inspection today, and Wincanton, Brighton, Thurles and Chelmsford are also safely going ahead.

Ones to watch

Seax was an eye-catcher when he was second from 25/1 at Ascot back in September, but he could fare no better than 4th of 9 at Wolverhampton later in the month despite being sent off at 5/4. He returns to the turf today and could get off the the mark in the 14:10 at Brighton.

I also like the Double Green horse Zayina in the other juvenile race at Brighton at 14:45. It’s second favourite behind Castle In The Sand. The daughter of Zarak was a clear second when make a step in the right direction at Pontefract lto, and further improvement could see her win under Billy the kid today.

Kilbrainy is running off the same mark as when he won easily in a Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap at Kelso earlier this month. He’s the only recent winner in the race, so Ryan Mania could guide him to back-to-back successes. He’s 5/4 in the 16:10 at Carlisle.

Lunar Space is seeking a hat-trick in the 20:30 at Chelmsford, with his most recent win at this track on Saturday. He’s upped to 1m2f today, but is 2lb well-in and primed to strike again under Saffie Osbourne.
