Form is temporary, class is permanent — I hope. Results lately have been an absolute nightmare, and when meetings are facing inspections or getting abandoned completely due to the weather — like Perth this afternoon — it’s never going to be easy to pick winners.

It’s day one of the Cambridgeshire Meeting at Newmarket, and the going is reportedly Good to Firm (Good in places) at HQ — which is music to the ears. Pontefract is Good to Soft, Southwell (AW) is standard, and the Irish tracks are on the slower side — with Bellewstown heavy after passing an inspection this morning and Clonmel Soft to Heavy.
