Drama didn’t do it easily, but was a nice winner at 5/2 under William Buick. However, the big talking point was yesterday’s info Playupbluesky winning at 12/1. What a winner that was and hopefully plenty of you were on that.
It’s all flat action today, with AW at Dundalk, Newcastle, Chelmsford and just two turf at Nottingham and Lingfield. So again, not the greatest day, but we keep punting.
Headlines
Ace Impact’s journey to the Arc continues today as he heads to Deauville for the Prix Guillaume d’Ornano. Joseph O’Brien’s Al Riffa, who won a G1 at two, is the nearest rival at 6/1 and Aidan’s Victoria Road, whose won its last four, is 13/2 under Ryan Moore.
Roger Varian is considering sending Eldar Eldarov over to the Curragh for the Irish St Leger next month.
There’s literally nothing else to add to the headlines so let’s move on…
One to watch
Speaking of Joseph and Aidan, they also have two Juveniles going head-to-head in the 15:10 on the poly track at Dundalk. Canpulet is making his long-waited debut for Ballydoyle, but Nor Time Nor Tide is the favourite for Joseph at 15/8 and should take all the beating.
The Ten Sovereigns colt was a distant second on debut from 9/2 in a five-horse field at Killarney. Winner that day Deepone has since been a close second in Listed company. He also holds a G2 entry so holds obvious claims in this race.
There are couple more 2YOs to like the look of. Hot Front (15/8) in the 15:20 at Lingfield is taken to get off the mark today after a couple of places in her first three outings. She was outclassed in G2 company at Royal Ascot, but has been close on both occasions at this level.
The other is Godolphin newbie Crystal Of Time. The last time first-time outers from this operation featured they didn’t do very well, but this filly is worth giving Charlie Appleby another go. She’s the half-sister to Nations Pride and her Dam Important Time won at Listed level. Moulton have a 31% SR with 2yos this season. Anyway, she’s 6/5 to win the 15:00 at Nottingham.

16:00 Nottingham: Golden Shot (6/4)
4 wins from 6 starts and won by a mammoth 27 lengths at Ffos Las earlier this month. Up 5lb following that success, but still looks ahead of his mark and further progress is likely.

Stable Whispers
Yesterday’s new section got off to an absolute flyer. Today’s whisper is a much shorter price, but confidence is very, very high for it… It’s King Lear in the 15:30 at Nottingham. It was fourth on debut last month from 22/1 and is expected to absolutely hose up this afternoon. Best price out there at the minute is 6/5 on William Hill.
Newsletter exclusive tips
First up is Embarked at 7/4 in the 14:50 at Lingfield. He got off the mark for James Fanshawe lto and a 4lb rise shouldn’t be enough to stop him hitting the front again today under Hollie Doyle. Who has the best SR here of any other jockey in the last five years (16.1%).
The other selection is Thomas Equinas at 2/1 in the 18:15 at Chelmsford. He scored a career best when winning here by three lengths lto and a 5lb penalty shouldn’t be enough to stop him either as he’s stepped up in trip.
