JPRacing - Day Two
Not as many winners as we would have liked from the first edition of the newsletter yesterday, but Buttons still delivered something worth celebrating under Ryan Moore on debut at Leopardstown.
Let’s try again today, shall we?
Headlines
One of the craziest races you’re ever likely to see took place at Longchamp yesterday, with Gagarin’s Moon winning by 30 lengths. The other jockeys have some explaining to do. Have a look for yourself…

Oisin Murphy had another winner at Chelmsford to keep his hot streak going. He’s now won 16 of his last 65 rides (25%) and has three favourites tonight at Haydock — King Of The Plains (6/5), Silent Flame (5/2) and Fox Vision (13/8).
Frankie Dettori is another jockey riding out of their skin at the minute, with six wins from his last 10 rides. The Italian has three chances at Haydock tomorrow — Equilateral (10/3), Emperor Spirit (16/1) and Mimikyu (7/2).
One to watch
Yesterday’s one to watch was a successful one from Ballydoyle, with Buttons winning by a nose at Leopardstown. She was tipped at 11/8 in the telegram on Wednesday night and went off around even money.

For today’s one to watch, we’re going back to Ireland and this time to Fairyhouse for another Aidan O’Brien runner. The Caribbean was fifth of seven runners on debut at York last month, but should come on from that run and being stepped up a furlong further to 6f this time out could be beneficial.
He’s a half-brother to six winners, including Sudirman — who won the G1 Phoenix Stakes over 6f at the Curragh as a 2YO — and Aidan has a 38% strike rate with 2yo turf runners in Ireland this season. The Caribbean is currently best priced at 13/8

18:38 Bath: Toca Madera (5/4)
Had to switch right 1f out on debut here a fortnight ago, but rallied and kept on well to finish third. Same ground (firm) and extra half furlong could suit today given the way he finished

Exclusive newsletter tip
We had no luck with yesterday’s selection as Eastern Charm was denied a clear run at Yarmouth. We go again today though and the selection is Abate (11/8) in the 19:55 at Haydock.
Won a 5f apprentice handicap under Mia Nicholls at Hamilton last Wednesday, comes here 6lb well in and with no concerns surrounding the additional furlong. Top contender and can complete the quickfire double for Adrian Nicholls.
