JPRacing - Blue Yonder 💙🧡
Three winners in yesterday’s newsletter, with By The Book (2/1) prevailing as the one to watch in a Novice Stakes at Haydock and Gearing’s Point (6/4) and Lan Cinnte (7/4) landing the email-exclusive tips double.
Today though, the main focus is on Blue Yonder! He’s looking to return to winning ways in the last at Haydock (20:50) after missing out on the hattrick by a neck at Wetherby last Tuesday. We’ll have more on him later.
Headlines
Derby second King Of Steel has been slashed from 6/1 to 6/4 favourite for the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot after Roger Varian revealed the Friday race is an option for the Amo horse.
Frankie Dettori has been booked to ride Manaccan in the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes on the opening day of Royal Ascot. The John Ryan-trained horse has been slashed from 20/1 to 7/1 as a result.
Animal Rising are threatening to disrupt the Ascot Gold Cup unless they get to have a televised debate with leaders from British racing.
Blue Yonder
Blue Yonder initially opened as the 3/1 favourite for the Class 5 Windle Handicap at Haydock when the odds were revealed yesterday evening, but the money must have come for Different Tone as the Ed Walker horse went from 11/2 to 15/8 very quickly. He’s since gone back out to 10/3, but remains the main danger after a promising reappearance.
Blue Yonder looks good value at 7/2 now though. He should have won his last day, but he pricked his ears when he got in front as he thought he was home and dry only to be headed in the closing stages and beaten by a neck.
I’m still waiting to hear the pre-race report from Tom Palin this morning, but he’s 4lb well in and I’m confident he’s going to run another very good race before going up again the weights.

One to watch
On a bit of a role with these recently. Sky Wizard (11/8) and Dragon Leader (6/1) both won on Tuesday and the aforementioned By The Book (2/1) got up very impressively under James Doyle yesterday to justify his massive market move.
We’re going to Newbury today, where Mafnood stands out in the 2:20 Novice Stakes. He’s sired by Kingman and half-brother to several winners — including Motafaawit, Al Shibli and Tajaanus, who all had success at two. His dam, Rayaheen, is also a 6f 2YO winner.

Newsletter exclusive tips
Another section we are on a bit of a roll in, we’ve landed our last three newsletter exclusives thanks to Equatorial and yesterday’s double.
The first exclusive today is Bernard Spierpoint (6/4) in the last at Yarmouth. He won by a commanding six lengths at Brighton last week and he holds leading claims to make it back-to-back victories again under penalty here.
The other is Satirical (2/1) in the 14:50 at Newbury. The Fillies’ Novice Stakes has opened up a bit now Lose Yourself is a non-runner and Frankie Dettori’s mount for the Gosdens is shortening up at the fore of the market. She showed promise on debut when second last May but disappointed when last seen finishing seventh in October. The soft ground might have played its part that day and she could fare better on good.
