JPRacing - Allaho is back!
After missing the entirety of last season due to injury, dual Ryanair Chase winner Allaho is making his return in the Grade 2 Clonmel Oil Chase at 14:50 this afternoon.
He’s currently priced at 1/2, and this looks like a good starting point for his return. But after 18 months off the course, I think this will purely be a watching race for me.
Allaho is already slashed to a general 4/1 chance for the 2024 Ryanair Chase from 6s this morning, and a win today could see those odds combust further.
Yesterday’s NAP Union Flag won well, and on a nice drift, to make it two wins from three NAPs this week. But the crossbar was hit too many times again…
On to today then, and it’s jumps all over the place — with meetings at Clonmel, Newbury, Ludlow and Sedgefield, with a solitary AW card at Chelmsford.
Let’s get on with it!

Ones to watch
Zachary is back in action one week on from bolting up over C&D at Chelmsford when tipped in this section, and he’s taking to go again in the 18:00 5lb well in under a penalty. He’s going to take all the beating if he runs to that standard again, and he’s been hammered down to 11/10 in the market.
There are a couple of bumpers to close the card at Newbury, and the favourites could take them both. The aptly named Gentleman’s Relish was 11th of 19 runners on his debut over C&D last March, as he reported didn’t relish the ground.
This is a big drop in grade from that and if he can handle the official going of G2S, and he’s as good as he’s supposed to be, then he should be winning the 15:35 from 11/4.
The other is Histrionic for Team Ditcheat. He’s a 450,000 euro purchase after winning his one and only P2P by a comfortable margin back in April. He has a nice pedigree and is of big interest on debut for Paul Nicholls. He’s 11/8 in the 16:10.

Jumping is sound, but still 9lb well in after winning a conditionals’ race at Aintree lto. Should be the one to beat as he looks for a third-career win

Tom Creen is the last horse on today’s shortlist. He looked in tip-top shape when winning over 2m5f here last month, which was his third career win at Sedgefield, and he can mark win number four at this course from 11/10 in the 14:10.
