JPRacing - Monday

There was no newsletter on Friday as I was in Belfast visiting family before Christmas, but the Saturday selections went well with three winners from four runners.

I was meant to rush from the airport straight to Huntingdon yesterday morning, but like the majority of jumps racing last week, it was cancelled. The good news is that all three meetings go ahead today, with jumps at Ayr and Lingfield and an AW card at Chelmsford this evening.

Let’s get into it…

Ones to watch

There are three juvenile races at Chelmsford this evening.

The first is at 17:30 and the market is interesting as Battleofbaltimore is shortening at a rate knots. The Dylan Cunha-trained horse was a solid 4th over C&D lto despite pulling hard, and will likely be in with a big chance if he can settle better this time out. He’s into 4/1 from 7s and will likely go much shorter on that basis.

In the 18:00, John and Thady Gosden’s Mrs Morrell looks like siding with to get off the mark at 13/8. She’s shown promise when 5-11 from 20/1 on debut before going second at Wolverhampton last month. She looks very capable of going one better today, and the withdrawal of Post Rider could be massively beneficial.

Ned Tanner (2/1) is a dual hurdle winner, both at Kelso, and he went incredibly close to winning again there when second after suffering interference last month. He looks capable of righting those wrongs and winning in the 13:20 at Ayr today.
