JPRacing - Adayar 🔵
Yesterday was another decent day for the newsletter. The exclusive double landed for the second day in a row, with Walking The Walk and Golden Maverick both winning at Limerick and Donny, while Brilliant landed the first NAP of the week.
There’re flat meetings all over the place today, with King George weekend kicking off at Ascot and cards also at Thirsk, York, Cork, Newmarket, Down Royal and Chepstow. There’s only one jumps meeting at Uttoxeter and some of the field sizes there are pretty disappointing.
Let’s get into it!
Headlines
2021 Derby and King George winner Adayar has been retired to stud after his recent tame showing at Newmarket earlier this month.
Andrea Atzeni will head to Hong Kong on a six-month contract after the Ebor meeting next month. He’s struggled this year since going freelance and is hoping he can make the move full-time.
Saffie Osborne got off to the perfect start on the defence of her Racing League top jockey crown, landing a treble at Yarmouth atop Chinese Knot, Stone Circle and Alnilam.
One to watch
There are 11 juvenile races across the cards today, including three at Thirsk — and that’s where one of today’s selection comes from. Unfortunately, it is a short price at 11/10, but I think Nighteyes can get off the mark for David O’Meara in the 2:35.
She’s an improving type and was second by less than a length in a 6f Novices Fillies lto. That form and her experience in this field give her leading claims and she can lose her maiden tag this afternoon.
The other is Acer at 2/1 in the 17:40 at Chepstow. She’s also yet to get off the mark for Clive Cox. But she was a decent third behind Make It Easy and Band Of Joy at Windsor lto and that form has since been boosted as both those horses have gone on to win since. She’s up in trip to 6f, but still holds strong claims.

Uttoxeter: Rock On Tommy (13/8)
Winner over C&D last two races, including a comfortable victory over today’s second fav Ten Past Midnight last week. Avoids penalty seeking hattrick for in-form Olly Murphy today. Leading contender in this race.

Newsletter exclusive tips
The first exclusive today is King Eagle in the 14:25 at Ascot. He was 2/1 when I pointed him out to the telegram last night, that price is well gone as the best I can find him at now is 11/8. He’s 2-2 since joining Nicky Henderson’s yard and Ryan Moore gets his leg up today. He won over 1m6f lto, so should have the scope for 2m.
The second selection also comes form Ascot. Gaassee in the 15:35 at 11/8. Returned to form when fourth of 13 runners over this distance at Haydock lto and he has form on softer ground — which can’t really be said for many of today’s rival. Tom Marquand back on board the William Haggas horse.
