JPRacing - I'm back 👊
I’m done galivanting around London and ready to get back to the grind. Yesterday’s NAP Mischief Magic finally getting up on his third attempt this season under William Buick at Kempton last night is a good place to start — and there are hopefully plenty more winners to come this week as well as there will be a Saturday edition to make up for lost time.
💣 NAP LANDS
🪄 Third time lucky for Mischeif Magic (6/4) this season as he’s back in the winner’s enclosure at Kempton

I wouldn’t say there’s anything too exciting on today’s racing agenda, with cards at Salisbury, Thurles, Lingfield, Warwick and Chelmsford. But it’s enough to keep us entertained and I’m looking forward to the action after missing pretty much everything over the last two days.
Let’s get on with it…

Ones to watch
There are 11 2YO races today, five of which come from Salisbury — and that’s where today’s first pick comes from.
Houstonn is fancied at 6/4 in the opener at 13:52. He was reflective of his 33/1 odds when ninth of 13 runners on his debut in a maiden at Newbury in August, but he was beaten by only a short-head from 14/1 over C&D last month and that form has been boosted as both third and fourth have gone on to win. This is the Richard Hannon horse’s chance to open his account and he should have a very good chance. 700,000gns yearling Matsuri could be a danger on his debut.
Ralph Beckett has a few juveniles with a decent chance today, including Qirat who is odds-on at 9/10 for the 14:57 at Salisbury and newcomer Indelible, who is the 11/8 favourite in the following race at 15:27, but the one I’m highlighting is Bernese (9/4) in the 14:45 at Lingfield.
She’s going walkies a little bit in the market this morning, drifting out from 6/4 to 9/4 at the time of writing, but is still worth siding with IMO. She was fifth of seven runners in a Maiden Fillies’ at Newmarket — which has been boosted as third that day has since won twice — in July and makes her return perhaps ready to strike after 82 days off. Improvement should certainly be on the cards for her.

17:15 Someone’s Wish (15/8)
Got off the mark when winning on handicap and AW debut 10 days ago from 13/2. Carries a 6lb penalty for that success, but can defy that to win again

Minella Rescue was third of 15 runners from 22/1 on her bumper debut at Tipperary in May and she struck on her first attempt for her new yard when switched to Gary Hanmer in July — winning a bumper at Stratford by 10 lengths. She’s the one to beat at 6/4 in the 16:35 at Warwick despite a 7lb penalty. In-form Sean Bowen (36%) rides again.
Tropical Air is looking for a four-timer in the 15:15 at Lingfield this afternoon, and the Charlie Johnston horse leads the betting. But my preference is Bulldog Drummond as he looks to get off the mark for George Boughey. The 2YO only went down by a neck to Tropical Air at Wolverhampton last month and Johnston’s runner is under a double penalty (12lb) this afternoon. Bulldog could have every chance of turning over that form at 4/1 on that basis.
