JPRacing - Auguste RodIN
After a terrible day on Tuesday, yesterday was a bit better as the newsletter exclusive double landed thanks to Tenhotfourcrazy and Prepense. However, Cherry Blossom didn’t live up to her billing and I’m yet to land a NAP this week as Flying Kiss made it 0/3.
But, when I’m in desperate need of getting back on track who do I turn to? Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore. I’m praying the trusty Ballydoyle duo can get us back to winning ways with today’s NAP (see below).
There’s tons of action today, with jumps at Worcester and Limerick and flat at Sandown, Doncaster, Leopardstown, Newbury and Yarmouth — which will play host to week one of the 2023 Racing League.
Let’s get into it.
Headlines
Desert Crown is out of the King George after sustaining a leg infection on Wednesday, but the declarations for the race are in and there’s an 11-strong field — including Auguste Rodin and King Of Steel.
Desert Crown may be missing out, but a strong field of 11 still declared for Saturday's King George at Ascot

The going at Ascot has been eased to soft, good to soft in places for King George weekend as 17mm rain fell on the Berkshire track last night.
It’s finally been confirmed that Pat Cosgrave has moved to Saudi Arabia to become the retained rider for Prince Saud Bin Salman Abdulaziz — a story I was on top of last week after being fed the info 👀

More bad news for punters as we could have to face affordability checks up to every six months. That proposal is for customers with a net loss of £1,000 over 24 hours or £2,000 over 90 days. But those under 25 could face checks for losing £500 in 24 hours or £1,000 over 90 days.
Racing League
A new section that’s been added to the newsletter to focus on each week’s Racing League action. It’s been billed to be bigger and better than ever as it returns for what I believe is its third renewal (?), yet tonight’s field sizes are below par despite the monetary value being good.
Anyway, I’ve only got one fancy and it’s Shobiz (11/4) in the at 18:00 at Yarmouth. He’s been on good form over this distance this season (312) and Kieran Shoemark is 2-3 when riding him. The word from Charlie Hills’ yard is good as well 👀
One to watch
Today’s NAP is a 2YO, but I have another juvenile selection for you today and it’s Royal Elysian at 6/5 in the 18:45 at Newbury. She’s come home second on both her starts at Haydock, missing out by just a head lto earlier this month. She sets the standard today on that form and can get off the mark for James Ferguson under Daniel Muscutt.

Leopardstown 16:37: Brilliant (13/8)
Decent run when third here lto, had no extra in the closing stages and lost second. Down in trip from 7.5f to 7f today. Open to improvement and appears to set the standard in this race. Can get off the mark for Ballydoyle… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

Newsletter exclusive tips
First up is Walking The Walk (7/4) in the 18:35 at Limerick. He’s been in very consistent form since joining Gordon Elliott’s yard last October (23212522213) and that will stand him in good stead today. He’s yet to get off the mark in hurdles, but is off a lower mark and can strike under Jack Kennedy this evening.
The other selection is Golden Maverick (6/5) in the 16:45 at Doncaster. He’s won four of his last six and is still 1lb well in under a penalty. His win at Epsom under William Buick last week was arguably a career best and he can strike again today under Jim Crowley.
